Decorating your teen’s bedroom can feel like an uphill battle. Afterall, your teen’s bedroom often needs to be a multi-functional space that fulfils multiple requirements. No longer a young child and yet not yet an adult decorating a teen’s bedroom is a tricky brief to fulfil. If you’re struggling with teen bedroom ideas then your in the right place as we’ve got some fantastic inspiration. For more ideas you can visit our Pinterest page here.
If your teen’s bedroom is more on the demure side then you might want to consider a high sleeper bed. This is basically a single bed on stilts. Indeed, the advantage of this type of bed is that it frees up valuable floor space. What is placed under this bed is entirely up to you and your teen. If there is no other space for study, then a desk might be suitable. Or perhaps your teen would like their bedroom to be a social space where they can chill out with their friends. In which case a futon or sofa bed could be just the ticket.
If your teen’s bedroom is big enough, then why not consider a small double bed. Most teenagers will feel like they have outgrown a single bed and be desperate for a bigger bed. However, a lot of teens don’t quite have the space for a double bed. Therefore, a small double bed is the perfect compromise for a teenage bedroom. Whilst a small double bed is only 6 inches narrower than a double bed, you’d be surprised at the difference that can make. For example it could be the difference between having a bedside cabinet and not.
We know we might be generalising here, but most teenagers have a lot of stuff! Therefore, it makes sense to invest in a bed that offers oodles of storage too. Enter the ottoman bed. An ottoman bed is basically a lift up bed that houses storage underneath. Little fact for you now, an ottoman bed can store up to four times the amount as a standard four drawer bed. Whilst we might be a bit overly optimistic here, but an ottoman bed could even help your teen keep their bedroom in order. Well, we can live in hope!
