    Choose The Right Bed

How To Choose the Right Bed

If you’ve just started searching for a new bed, then there are few things that you’ll need to consider. After all, you want to make sure you choose the right bed for you. Indeed, a good bed should last you several years and therefore it pays to do your research first. So how do you choose the right bed? Here are the top 6 things that you need to consider before you splash the cash. You can read our full buying guide here.

    Choose The Right Bed

    1.Size Matters

The primary decision that you need to make first is what size bed to get. Obviously, this will depend on who the bed is intended for and how big the room is. For example, if the bed is for a child in a small bedroom then you might want to look at single beds. If space is no issue and the bed is to be shared, then we always recommend getting the biggest bed you can.

When looking at beds and whether they are the right size for you, you should always take note of the external measurements. Indeed, external measurements can vary significantly depending on the type of frame. For example, a sleigh bed can be somewhat longer than other bed frames. The last thing you want is to find the right bed only to find out it won’t fit in your room!

    2. Chose the Right Bed with Your Significant Other

If the bed is to be shared, then it pays to pick a bed together. After all, both parties need to feel like the bed is the right one for them.

    3. Think of Choosing the Right Bed as an Investment for Your Health

Whilst you don’t have to get the most expensive bed for a good night’s sleep it is important to think of your bed as an investment. After all, sleep is paramount for good health both physical and mental. You spend up to one third of your life in bed so it’s important to prioritize getting a good bed.

    4. What Is the Access Like?

Another key thing to consider when picking the right bed for you is access. Whilst you might have fallen in love with a bed, if you can’t get it into the room of your choice then it’s of no use. Generally speaking, most flat packed beds can be maneuvered into most rooms. However, if you have a tricky staircase or the bed is going in a loft room then we urge you to double check the measurements. We are always happy to help with access queries by either phone or email.

    5. Do You Want Storage?

If you’re looking to maximise storage in your bedroom, then you may want to take a peek at our storage beds. Indeed, storage beds are fantastic at utilising the space beneath the bed that is otherwise redundant.  There are basically two types of storage beds for you to choose from.  You can either choose to have a bed with drawers or ottoman storage. The type of storage you want will obviously depend on your individual needs. If you want to boost your storage to maximum capacity, then an ottoman bed is a must. These beds offer up to four times the amount of storage as a standard four drawer divan. However, if you only need a little extra wriggle room then drawers should be ample.

    6. What Style Should You Pick?

When it comes to getting the right bed in terms of style then this is mostly personal. However, unless you are redecorating your entire bedroom, we would recommend trying to select a bed that will go with your existing furniture. That way you can create a cohesive look that will in turn be more conducive to a good night’s sleep.
