    Tired All The Time

Being tired all the time isn't a whole lot of fun. You wake up in the morning feeling exhausted, trudge through the day with concrete wellies on then collapse into bed. Indeed, it is so widespread that it even has its own acronym TATT. Being tired all the time can have a number of causes and therefore there are a number of solutions. In this article we will discuss some of the possible causes and what you can do about them

    Tired All The Time

    Lack Of Sleep

It may seem like we are stating the obvious but a lack of sleep has to be a major source of being tired all the time. Most adults need between seven and eight hours of sleep a night. However, you'd be surprised at how many of us are getting nowhere near that amount. What's more, just a few sleepless nights can wreak havoc with your health. When we're leading busy stressful lives it can be all too tempting to skip on sleep. However, it is not advisable as lack of sleep will nearly always catch up with you. Therefore it is important to make sleep a priority. Think of it as one of the pillars to good health.

    Stress

Modern day living is stressful. Indeed, more and more of us are trying to squeeze more out of our time. However, living such a super hero lifestyle can lead to chronic stress. This leads to the body being in fight or flight mode as well as an increase in cortisol, the stress hormone. Not surprisingly this can lead to feeling tired all the time. Therefore if you feel stressed then it's important to get some practices in place to tackle it. You can read more about tackling stress here

    Diet

Your body is like an engine and food is the fuel that you feed it. Indeed just like a car, if you put the wrong fuel in it then it won't work as it should. If you're feeling tired all the time then perhaps it's time to assess whether your diet is up to scratch. There are mountains of information about diet available online. However, a good place to start is the NHS website. Tied up with diet is the possibility of vitamin deficiency. Doctors are able to test for vitamin deficiencies and prescribe the appropriate supplementation.

    Depression

One of the classic symptoms of depression is being tired all the time. Without a doubt depression can make you feel robbed of energy and enthusiasm. Thankfully, there are numerous treatments that can keep depression at bay. The best place to seek advice is from your G.P who may prescribe medication or talking therapy.

    Underlying Health Conditions

If your feeling tired all the time and none of the above apply to you it is possible that you have an underlying health condition. Indeed, all manner of health conditions can lead to exhaustion. From diabetes to fibromyalgia there are a whole host of conditions that can zap you of your va va voom. Again, if you're worried about your health then you should visit a doctor. Whilst it is tempting to google your symptoms, the internet can be a dangerous place with lots of misinformation.

    Takeaway

Feeling like your get up and go has got up on gone can make you feel pretty miserable. However, the good news is that there is whole armoury of things that you can put in place to get you feeling full of life again. Between self measures and a trip to the doctors, being exhausted can often be defeated if not managed to your satisfaction.
